Congratulations! It's a ....#book! #UrbanFantasy Big #Giveaway

It's official! I'm the proud "mother" of my second book, Dying by the Hour. This is a sequel to Dying for a Living and picks up one year after the events of Book 1.

Here's the back cover blurb:

After 83 deaths, Jesse Sullivan knows how to die. As a Necronite, she is one of the population’s rare 2% who can serve as a death replacement agent, dying so others don’t have to. But using her NRD to save lives is why she’s being hunted. For Ally Gallagher, death is permanent. If she fails to protect Jesse again, there will be no third attempt. After a quiet year the signs of serious danger have returned. People connected to Jesse are disappearing. Her home is vandalized and threatening messages are turning up in the safest of places. Then Jesse is taken and Ally has only hours to get her back. But no salvation comes without its price.

This officially kicks off my blog tour for this book, which will run for two weeks, culminating in an afterparty on September 16. Be sure to join us for the afterparty--it gets its own prizes!--as well as enter my giveaway below.

And if you're interested, two interviews are already up and live--with more to come.

Kory's Nancy Christie Interview (This is a two-parter; Part 2 September 15)
Kory's Carrie LaHain Interview

I just want you guys to know how lucky I am to have such awesome fans. You made it hellacious fun the first time, and I'm pleased as punch to go again.

You're *literally* making my dreams come true--which means more than I can say. It wasn't that long ago that I was a poor, unlucky kid from nowhere--and you're changing all that.

Thank you.

  1. I am a klutz, so my death will be from something stupid like stepping in front of a speeding child on a bicycle, or a drunken redneck on a 4-wheeler. Or, I might be that one person in 4 billion who dies from a piano falling on her head. Perhaps I'll get electrocuted while making microwave popcorn. Or maybe I'll die by turning my ankle because those damned wedge sandals I love so much are too wide and I turn my ankle while taking a walk, fall into the path of a rabid squirrel who mangles me and I become infected. I don't die of rabies, though. It's the nosocomial infection the hospital gives me that kills me in the end.

  2. This description is AMAZING! And poor Jess! She'd be following you around expecting the worse to happen. :) You'd be all right though ;)

  3. I am diving with great whites later this month, so definitely a shark attack!

    1. Yow-zah! That's impressive! :) And you raise an interesting question. I wonder how Jesse would react with the sharks because of her magnetism stuff. Would it mess up the sharks sensors? ALL THE QUESTIONS!

    1. This sounds like the softest, cutest replacement yet. :) Do you have catnip in your pockets or something? :)

  5. She'll save me from "certain death by basement stairs". I fall down them 2-3 times a month, so eventually the next time will be the last time. :(
Thanks for the giveaway. Angela R. has said great things about your books! :)

PS: I logged in incorrectly the first time, so if I entered twice, I only meant to enter with the kristypetree@.... address. Oops!

    1. Oh no! We need to put carpet on those things!!! and maybe a huge pile of pillows at the bottom? Or maybe just replace the whole thing with an inflatable slide? Well, regardless, Jesse has you covered! :)

    2. A slide! Of course! I'll have to run that idea by my husband. lol

He does hydraulics for a living and always talks about an elevator--we live in a small ranch-style home, not exactly conducive to installing an elevator--but a slide would be so much easier, cheaper, and fun. :)

    3. I'm just checking in - lol. It's ending fairly soon-ish. I've read and heard such great things, that I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and my eyes. ...Well, I think they're crossed; I can't really tell. :)
