Debut #erotica from an amazing new author! #amreading #review

Publisher Description
eBook #1 in Vivia Nightshade’s Carnival Erotica series of short and steamy reads.

Rachel Pritchard never goes over the speed limit, never has more than one cocktail, and never sleeps with men on the first date. Of course, she never agrees to a second date either. Playing it safe helped her top the corporate ladder, but she keeps the other things she’d like to top to herself. In big business, only men are allowed those vices.

When a potential client invites Rachel to a secretive club for high-ranking professional women, her darkest fantasies are played out before her eyes, threatening to shatter her celibacy. The new client could be a goldmine, but Rachel’s not sure if her self-control will survive the partnership. More than that, she’s not sure if she wants it to.

Kory's Review (as seen on Amazon and Goodreads)

Full disclosure: I'm not an erotica reader as a rule. I never read Fifty Shades of Gray or books like it. So I am no expert in the genre. But I love stories and I love books-- and I can tell you this is great. The character description and world-building was spot on. I was interested, invested, and definitely blushing like mad! :D So while I can't compare the book to other erotica in the genre, I can tell you this is a fun, quick read that I definitely think you'll enjoy. I can't wait to get the second installment in the Carnival series!

Happy Release Day @AngelaRoquet! #Tuesdaybookblog #urbanfantasy #review

Happy release day to the super lovely, super talented, Angela Roquet! The second novel in her Blood Vice series, Blood and Thunder, hit shelves today. If you're not familiar with this amazing series, start with Blood Vice, Book 1 -- though personally I love this second installment even more than the first! (More on my thoughts after I introduce the book:

Being a vampire isn’t easy. Jenna Skye thought she could pull it off without giving up her old life, but the compromises are taking a toll—and not just on her. Jenna’s sister Laura is eager to return to her glamorous life in Hollywood, and Mandy, Jenna’s wolfy partner, is getting sick of playing her K9 sidekick to get around the police department’s red tape.

Jenna’s never been good with change, but with her human existence slipping further and further out of her reach, she has no choice but to accept FBI agent Roman Knight’s offer to help the supernatural police force ruled by House Lilith hunt down a serial killer targeting new vampires in St. Louis…like her. Playing bait isn’t exactly what Jenna had in mind, but it’s a rookie lump she’ll have to take if she wants a shot at joining Blood Vice—and if she wants to survive her new life as a vampire.

Kory's Official Review (as found on goodreads and amazon)

Angela Roquet is one of my favorite urban fantasy writers - and I love her Blood Vice series most of all! It's got a touch of all my favorite genres: crime, mystery, vampires, werewolves, and romance. You'll laugh out loud, you'll tear up --and you'll love the wonderful characters and world she's created here.

Though I love Blood and Thunder, Blood Vice Book 2 even more than Blood Vice, Book 1-- you should read the first book in the journey in order to appreciate Detective Jenna Skye's rough transition into vamphood.

Get your copy of Blood and Thunder pronto!

#Freebiefriday: Paperback giveaway

So many of you may or may not know that I’m in the process of rebranding my popular urban fantasy series Dying for a Living. For example, here is a side-by-side of #1.

Current cover                             New Cover

(looking for the full reveal? Check out this post)

What does this mean? If you’ve bought any of these paperbacks – heads up!

All covers will change on August 31 when the preorder for Dying Day, Book 7 goes live. This means that if you are a collector like me, you will want to purchase whichever paperback(s) you are missing from the original set before they are GONE FOREVER.

But what about Book 7?

Fear not! I’m working with the ever-talented designer John K. Addis (and also author of The Eaton) to create a special limited time only paperback for Dying Day in the old set style. These will be signed and sold in September – so that your set will truly be complete!

So bottom line:
Get paperbacks 1-6 before August 31.
Keep your eyes open for the release of the special cover in September and complete your set.
